It’s time for Downtown Crystal Lake’s biggest and best one-day event — The Johnny Appleseed Festival!
Start your day at the Pancake Breakfast (7AM – 10AM) at Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 W. Crystal Lake Avenue.
Then come on downtown and make plans to spend the day! We will have pony rides, wagon rides, giant slide, climbing tower, pumpkin train, pumpkin moonwalk, apple amusement ride, and plenty of children’s games for the little folks too.
A Craft Fair will be held in Ormsby Motors Parking lot. The Craft Fair is full of vendors offering a huge variety of handmade products.
The Crystal Lake Historical Society will be cranking its antique apple press and apple peelers (always a favorite demonstration). The Crystal Lake Public Library will host storytelling in front of the Raue Center throughout the day. Other non profits from our community will be here too, including Community Harvest/Food Pantry, Crystal Lake Kiwanis, The Salvation Army, and the Crystal Lake Sustainability Committee. Take a selfie at the Willow Crystal Lake photo backdrop entitled “Happy Fall Y’All”.
And what’s a festival without Food, Music, and Fun! We have it all! Live music, DJ music, dance demonstrations, and more! Apple delicacies and other food items too will be available for sale.
Best of all — Johnny Appleseed himself will be walking around downtown, greeting our guests and telling his story!
Parking Reminder: The commuter parking lots are FREE on weekends. There are plenty of parking spaces available within a block or two of the festival.
