This building was built in 1958 as a bakery, and it remained a bakery for nearly 60 years! The builder was Wayne Jenson, who owned a bakery down the street (89 N. Williams). Jenson eventually closed his other bake shop and operated solely from this location. Jenson’s Bakery offered a full line of baked goods including pies, coffee cakes, rolls, bread, cookies, party cakes, and more! Jenson’s Bakery was a popular stopping point for commuters and early morning workers.

By summer of 1977, the business was owned by the father and son team of Don & Tom Cadieux. Cadieux’s Bakery continued the tradition of a high-quality full service bake shop, enticing passerbys with heavenly scents of fresh baked goods! Trick or Treaters loved to stop by Cadieux to receive an extra special treat at Halloween.

In 2005, Dawn Gerth opened Le Petit Marche. Dawn offered fresh baked bread, cheeses, wine, and plenty of good conversation.

Good conversation continues today at Jude’s, Downtown’s newest restaurant and bar.
