Downtown Crystal Lake is the heart of our beautiful town, and its vitality has ripple effects throughout our community. Our mission as an organization is to promote a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring environment for all who work, live, and visit here. We strive to preserve the unique charm of our historically-rich downtown while promoting economic growth and vibrant community life. Who We Are
Downtown Crystal Lake / Main Street is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization founded by local community volunteers in 1996. We are accredited through Main Street America and Illinois Main Street, which provides the framework for our revitalization work. We operate out of the Raue House in Crystal Lake Avenue, which was donated to the organization by Lucille Raue. Funded by grants and private support, we are comprised of a Board of Directors, two employees, four volunteer committees, and many more volunteers for one-day events. It’s a joint effort that would not be possible without a high level of collaboration, vision, and commitment.

Partner+ businesses within our district see the vibrancy of our Downtown district as paramount to their own success, and want to invest at a higher level.

- 2+ dedicated reels or static posts on our social media accounts/year
- 1 dedicated write-up in our newsletter per year
- Complimentary use of the Downtown’s Office & Meeting Space – the Raue House (25 W. Crystal Lake Avenue) for business meetings or other purposes up to 2x a year (as available).
Non-Profit Partner
$100 annual or $10/month
We invite non-profit organizations in Crystal Lake to partner with us and amplify each other’s efforts.
