The Great Ball Race Raffle – COVID Edition
Grand Prize $1000
Like everything this year, The Great Ball Race needs to adapt for safety of all spectators and volunteers. The race will be held and videotaped so everyone can watch safely from their home.
The Great Ball Race is a fundraiser for Downtown Crystal Lake/Main Street, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 charity. Proceeds will be used to help enhance and promote our historic downtown district.
Race will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 on Brink Street, Downtown Crystal Lake.
We are limiting the number of balls sold. This gives everyone a better chance at winning the $1,000 grand prize.
Here’s how the Great Ball Race works:
- Purchase a numbered raffle ticket. Each ticket is $10. Brightly colored plastic balls will be numbered to correspond with the numbers on the raffle tickets.
- These balls will then be released and “rolled” down Brink Street with the fastest ball winning $1,000 for its owner.
- Winner will be contacted following the race.
- NOTE: Tickets go on sale the last week in August.
DOUBLE THE LOVE
New this year! Double your love for a non-profit. Ticket holders and sponsors will be able to designate a favorite 501(c)3 charity (ex. CL Food Pantry, Senior Care Volunteer Network, Dole Mansion, CL Historical Society, etc.). If one of your balls wins, we’ll donate the $1,000 Grand Prize to that charity.
This year’s Great Ball Race sponsors will be given an opportunity to name a charity organization as its designated winner. With one sponsorship donation, you can support Downtown Crystal Lake (also a 501(c)3) AND your winning ball will put $1,000 in the hands of another favorite charity!
