Heritage Trolley Tour – Sears “Kit” Homes of Crystal Lake

The Annual Heritage Tour is a celebration of Crystal Lake’s history and architecture. This tour is hosted by The Crystal Lake Historic Preservation Commission and has been taking place since 1998 and each year, it brings together hundreds of community members interested in learning more about our city.

This year the tour will feature 13 Sears & Roebuck “Kit” Homes that can be found throughout Downtown Crystal Lake and nearby neighborhoods. Attendees are given a keepsake program booklet which will guide them through the tour and inform them about these beautiful, vintage homes that are important historical structures in our community.

The support that is raised for this event is used throughout the year for preservation activities such as veteran gravestone repair, upkeep, and cleaning, and to fund the grant program which aids in the upkeep of historic landmarked properties in Crystal Lake.

The first tour begins at 10 am and each tour is 45 minutes long.
