The 2026/2027 Signboard Lottery is Now Closed
This is the once-yearly opportunity to reserve your signboard rental week(s)!
The downtown signboard is a coveted local advertising opportunity that reaches 30k+ visitors during a single signboard week, based on conservative data from Placer of visitors to the downtown. Your message is displayed on all four signboards, which are located at prominent downtown intersections. The signboards are lit, so your message is visible 24/7.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for advertising on the signboards, a business must be located in the downtown district, and be a dues-paying partner of Downtown Crystal Lake. All prior amounts due to Downtown Crystal Lake must be paid in full. If you are uncertain of your eligibility, please contact us at info@downtowncl.org.
Number of Entires
All dues-paying Partners are guaranteed one (1x) entry in the signboard lottery. Businesses at the Partner+ level are guaranteed two (2x) entries in the signboard lottery. If there are additional dates available after the first round of entries have been sorted, all Partners are eligible for more signboard entries based on the max number of entries indicated.
Process
Dates are awarded through a process of completely random selection in an orderly fashion, with the first name randomly drawn assigned to their first preferred date. Then the next name is drawn, and so on, until all spots are filled. A member of the downtown staff and a volunteer without an entry in the lottery are both present for the drawing.
Cost
Weekly rental fee is $195. Proceeds from the signboard rental are used for general marketing of the downtown district. Those who are awarded weeks are responsible for the advertising content and rental fee.
Entry Instructions
To enter the signboard lottery, fill out the information below and submit no later than the end of day February 5, 2026.
Black Out Dates
The signboard is used for Downtown Events on 06/7, 9/20, and 11/22.
