In January 2025, Downtown Crystal Lake/Main Street distributed a public survey written by Illinois Main Street and Main Street America, for the purpose of informing our strategic planning. Efforts were made to reach as many members of the public as possible (social media, newsletter, boosted local ads, and so forth). In the end, nearly 2,000 people responded to the survey – the second highest response rate in Main Street towns nationwide who have undergone this particular strategic planning process.
