Lucky to have Downtown Crystal Lake/Main Street
There may be a Pot ‘O Gold at the end of every rainbow. Many people say that’s lucky.
Those who visit Downtown Crystal Lake tell us they feel lucky. Lucky to embrace the historic pedestrian-friendly business district in the heart of a thriving community. Lucky to shop unique boutiques, dine in locally owned restaurants and experience diverse services as well as enjoying recreation and entertainment close to home.
Luck may be a part of our success, yet hard work, dedication to service, family-focused events and that old fashioned help-your-neighbor attitude is the real reason people love Downtown Crystal Lake.
As an accredited member of Main Street America, Downtown Crystal Lake/Main Street is a nonprofit organization that is fueled by community leaders and local support. A small staff and a volunteer board of directors follow the mission of Main Street America – preservation based economic development.
The Main Street business community in Crystal Lake fosters new businesses, helps existing businesses to grow and thrive, as well as protects the small business environment. Events, marketing and coordinated activities bring shoppers, diners, visitors and tourists to the open doors of our small, locally-owned businesses.
“We are lucky to have Downtown Crystal Lake/Main Street to help businesses thrive,” explains Ben Volling, Downtown Crystal Lake Board President. “Sponsors and volunteers enable us to implement family-friendly events like the Farmers Market, Garden Party, Johnny Appleseed Festival, Festival of Lights Parade and Santa’s House. We are so proud to engage thousands of people who participate in these and other events each year.”
